With MyAlbum.com you can put your photos in an online album for free and share them with friends and family. The albums cannot be viewed by everyone. You decide yourself who you grant permission to see the photos.

MyAlbum.com gives every user 500 MB free storage. This means you can store 1000 photos.

MyAlbum.com is completely free (500 MB storage).

• Make a new album by clicking on the button 'Make a new album'.
• Give your album a title.
• Select how you want to place your photos.

Advanced photo placement:

1. Click on the 'Advanced' tab.
2. Click on the yellow bar at the top of your browser: the Aurigma Image Uploader is being installed.
4. Browse in the left window for folders to place your photos.
5. Drag the relevant photos to the window in the lower right or click on 'add' or 'add all'.
6. You can check the option 'Fast upload'. This will reduce the size of the photos to 1600x1200 pixels. This will speed up the placement of the photos. The quality of the photos will be reduced, therefore, the photos will be less suitable to be printed.
7. Click on the button 'Place photos in my album': your photos are now being placed.


Simple photo placement:

1. Select the 'Classic' tab.
2. Click on the button 'Browse', select your photo and click on the button 'Open'.
3. Repeat this step for every photo and then click on the button 'Place photos in my album'.
6. Your photos are now being placed in your album. If the photos placed in you album do not meet the conditions, you will be informed about it.

Your photos will remain in your album for an unlimited time if you log in at least one time every 37 days or if your photos are being viewed by relatives, friend or acquaintances. If this does not happen you will receive an e-mail after 30 days telling you to log in or letting you know that your photos must be viewed by relatives, friends or acquaintances. If this does not happen within 7 days, your photos will be deleted.

First log in. In "My Private Albums" click on the album you want to edit. You are now on the 'Edit album' page with an overview of the photos in the album. Add a new title next to the desired photo. Click on 'Save changes' after you have made the changes.

When you use the advanced method for placing photos and you experience this problem you can solve it by deactivating 'Fast upload (lower quality)' before placing the photos.

Go to advanced photo placement to change the order of the photos. In order to do this you need to click on the right window with your right mouse button before placing the photos. Then click on 'Order pictograms on' and you can choose between Name, Size, Type and Changed (most recently).

Yes, you can. You start the slideshow by clicking 'Start slideshow' on the right side above the small size photos. Click on 'Stop slideshow' in the same area to stop the slideshow.

You can adapt the starting point of the slideshow by selecting another photo in the album. The default display time per photo is 3 seconds.

You grant access by means of a link with a unique code. You can send this link from MyAlbum.com (click on the 'Share album' button or on ) or view the album and copy the link in the location bar. This link grants direct access to the respective album.

Your photos can only be viewed by people to whom you sent the link with the unique code. It is not possible to view the photos without logging in or without this link with the unique code.

If you place the photos in the column 'My public albums' these albums become visible to everyone.

No, this is impossible. The people whom you invite cannot delete photos or make other changes. Changes can only be made when being logged in with the e-mail address and password.

You can easily link photos and photo albums on MyAlbum.com from external websites or send them via e-mail or MSN.

Click on 'Link to photo/album' when viewing a photo or an album. Select the way you want to link/place the photo or album. There are four ways to place your photos.

1. Place photo – Photo link
Copy the link and send this link for instance via e-mail or MSN to share the photo.

2. Place photo – Photo on website or blog
Copy the link and place on a website or forum. The photo is loaded automatically from the servers of MyAlbum.com

3. Place album – Photo album as slideshow
Copy the link and use it for instance as a gadget on Hyves. The photo album is shown as a slideshow.

4. Place album – photo album as link
Copy the link and send for instance via e-mail or MSN to share the photo album.

Click on 'Contacts' after being logged in. Then select the contacts you want to delete. Click on the button 'Delete selection' after you have made your selection.

You can! Every photo has a link 'Comments'. Click here to add a comment to the photo. The owner of the album automatically receives a message after a comment has been added.

You can deactivate the possibility to add comments to an album. Open the respective album after logging in and click on 'Comments' on the left. After this you can deactivate the placement of comments under 'Album options'.

If you do not want to be informed about new comments you can also change this under 'Album options'.

Your albums are private by default. You can choose to make certain albums public, which will enable everyone to view these albums. After being logged in you can make your own photo albums public under the column 'My public albums'.

You can view the public albums of others under the tab 'Public albums' on the right on top of the page.

You can choose 'Categories' for your albums and subsequently 'Sub categories'. If your albums do not fit in one of the categories you can choose the category 'Other' or the subcategory 'Other'.

If an album was added to a wrong category, it may be deleted or added to another category.

If a photo album was added wrongly you can report this. You need to click on the indicated cross on the right of the respective category when viewing the album.

When you make an album public it can take up to 3 minutes before the album becomes visible for everyone.

You can save your photos as JPEG files by opening your photos with the program Paint (is by default included in the Microsoft Windows packages).

You can find the program Paint by clicking Start/All Programs/Accessories/Paint. After this you open the photo (File/Open) and click on File/Save as/Save as type: JPEG.

You need to delete the cookies from your web browser. Cookies contain information for websites that you visit regularly and are automatically produced by your web browser. In this case there is a problem with the cookies that your browser uses for MyAlbum.com.

You can delete your cookies in the Windows Control Panel (Start/Control Panel). Choose 'Internet Options' and click 'Delete cookies'. Click then OK. Now you can try to log in again.

Are you still unable to log in after having deleted the cookies? The reason may be that your browser does not respond to the cookies that it receives from our site. This may have various reasons: firewalls, too strictly programmed virus scanners, spyware/viruses or other serious defects in your configuration.

The size of your photos must be at least 400 x 400 pixels. Photos that do not meet these minimal sizes can be selected but will not be placed automatically.

You can enlarge your photos by opening them with the program Paint (is by default included in the Microsoft Windows packages).

You can find the program Paint by clicking Start/All Programs/Accessories/Paint. After this you open the photo (File/Open) and click on Image/Attributes: Now you can change the size of the photo.

In order to be able to use the advanced placement of photos (suitable for many photos), you will need to install the ActiveX control element 'Aurigma Image Uploader'. This ActiveX control element is normally easy to install via the yellow bar on top of the screen. The settings of your computer may cause you to be unable to install the control element. Different elements may be responsible for this.

An installed firewall on your computer may block of all these ActiveX control elements. You can test this by switching off the firewall temporarily and by repeating the installation. If it works after turning off the firewall, then the firewall was the problem. You can then check to see if the settings of the firewall allow the use of the ActiveX control elements.

If this does not help, the Internet Explorer ActiveX control elements may be blocked. You can fix this in your browser by going to Tools - Internet Options. Then go to the tab Security and make sure that the security level is 'Normal'. You can adapt this with the sliding bar on the screen. If there is no sliding bar, click on the button 'Standard level' and you will see the sliding bar.

When you use a public computer in a school or a library it is possible that the system administrator has set that you are not allowed to install programs. In this case you will need to contact the system administrator.

If you use 'Mozilla Firefox' or another browser you will need to use the Java version of 'Aurigma Image Uploader'. Therefore, you will need to have installed a proper version of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). You can install this from the Java site.

If the advanced placement of photos is still not working after executing all the above possible solutions, you can only place the photos in a classical way (tab 'Place photos the classic way').

When you can only see the title of the album and the link 'add to my favorite albums', this is probably due to your virus scanner (for instance McAfee) or similar software.

We advise you to check if you have installed similar software on your PC and turn it off temporarily. This software can mostly be seen on the right hand side at the bottom of your screen and can be (temporarily) turned off.

You do not need to do anything for this. Accounts without photo albums are automatically deleted 90 days after you logged in for the last time.

If you have forgotten your password click on the link 'forgot password?' under the tab 'Log in'. Fill in your e-mail address and you will receive an e-mail. Click on the link in the e-mail. You can then fill in a new password.

After logging in you can change your e-mail by clicking on the tab 'Profile'. When you have modified your e-mail, click on the 'Modify' button to save the changes.

Click on the tab 'Profile' after logging in. Fill in the same password twice in 'Change password' and then click on 'Modify' below the page. Your password has now been changed.
